Youth Ambassador Launches New Newsletter to Share Voices and Creativity

A returning Youth Ambassador, now in her second season, is taking the lead on a brand-new YAP Newsletter this season, creating a space for fellow Ambassadors and participants in our Full Circle program to share their perspectives, highlight theater happenings, and collaborate creatively.

The Youth Ambassador Program (YAP) invites local high school juniors and seniors to experience Broadway touring productions, engage in discussions, and share their perspectives through creative projects. The Full Circle program is an intergenerational program that brings high school students and senior citizens together to connect through shared theater experiences.

Rebecca has invited participants from both programs to contribute in a variety of ways, such as:

  • Interviewing cast members, crew, or fellow participants
  • Writing theater-focused articles (from behind-the-scenes roles to theater tips)
  • Spotlighting upcoming opportunities like auditions, performances, or volunteer chances
  • Helping with editing or design
  • Sharing creative work — artwork, reflections, or other ideas

This project is entirely student-led, with Rebecca taking the lead.

So far, 8 Youth Ambassadors and 2 Full Circle members have expressed interest in contributing. Rebecca shared that she’s most excited to “collaborate with my fellow YAPPERS! The Youth Ambassador Program has become a great community in my life, and I’d love to give back by offering more opportunities between meetings to work together on something that can benefit everyone.”

While the newsletter is primarily for participants, we look forward to highlighting pieces of it on Broadway Utica’s social media throughout the season.
