PURCHASING TICKETS THE RIGHT WAY AT BROADWAY UTICA

There are several important things to consider when purchasing tickets for… well, anything.  This is especially important when you consider purchasing tickets for Broadway Utica productions!  Make sure that you always follow the tips below to ensure that you are able to enjoy your night at the theater without any unnecessary hassle!

For starters:  there is only ONE website to purchase tickets for Broadway Utica.  That website is WWW.BROADWAYUTICA.ORG …That’s it!  That’s the only one!  All of those other wow-these-prices-look-too-good-to-be-true websites are, well, too good to be true! Several third party websites state our shows are sold out and to complete the information box to be added to wait list. While we would love to sell out the Theatre, chances are there are still some seats available to each one of our productions.

Similarly, we do NOT have an 800 number.  Our box office number 315-624-9444.

Next, please be aware that there are a few different options when it comes to how you order your tickets; you can use the aforementioned website, call us at 315-624-9444, or stop in our box office at 258 Genesee Street (across the street from The Stanley.)

Please do not google “Tickets to Broadway Utica”. This will only bring you to third party sites. Always type in our web address directly into your browsers…or give us a call. Our box office is opened Monday through Friday from 9:00am – 4:00pm. It does vary on holiday’s and show nights.

BROADWAY UTICA SUPPORTS OUR YOUTH

Over the last several years, students at New Hartford have benefited greatly from the opportunities that the Stanley Center for the Performing Arts and Broadway Utica have provided.

The Youth Ambassador program has allowed countless students the chance to not only see Broadway-caliber productions right down the road from home, but the ability to meet, network, and learn from actors and production team members. From the pre-show talks to the after-show cast parties, our students have had access to individuals at the top of their fields. In turn, our students carry the lessons they have learned into their own lives, both inside and outside of school and on and off stage, thanks to the people they have met and their exposure to shows of all genres, through this excellent program. I have witnessed first-hand the excitement, joy, and pleasure that these students feel leaving the theater and coming to school the next day to share the pieces of the productions that they loved, and the connections that they have made through meeting cast members and mingling with other local area students.

On top of the Youth Ambassador program, our students have benefitted greatly from the staff at Broadway Utica in their mission to provide local students the opportunity to be present at the productions that come into town. Last year, over 50 of our students had the chance to see Rodgers & Hammerstein’s Cinderella, which happened to be the musical our school was producing just a few months later. This gave our cast a firsthand look at the level that we are constantly striving for on our school’s stage, and a goal to work towards for their individual characters. It also gave members of our crew and production team the chance to see all of the effects that we had been envisioning, too.

Most recently, we were able to bring 40 of our students to this year’s production of Once on This Island where we were able to experience the likely once-in-a-lifetime feeling of sitting on stage. Being directly in the middle of all the action taking place both on and off stage gave our students a unique take on what it means to be fully invested in everything that takes place over the course of a run of any show. The anticipation could be felt radiating from students as we were escorted up onto stage before the show opened, and it was only topped by the exuberance they left the Stanley with that night.

We are so grateful to have Broadway Utica in our area – a program that has proven its commitment to our school’s youth over and over again. We cannot wait to see what the future has in store, and look forward to continuing to build and foster a relationship based on the mutual agreement of giving local students the best opportunities as close to home as possible.

RUDOLPH THE RED-NOISED REINDEER PRESENTED BY BROADWAY UTICA

“Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer has taken the country by snowstorm.” – Hartford Courant

“Magical time…the performances are spot on.” -HuffPost

RUDOLPH THE RED-NOSED REINDEER: THE MUSICAL LIVE ON STAGE PRESENTED BY BROADWAY UTICA SOARS TO UTICA, NY ON NOVEMBER 22nd, 2019

Touring Musical is Stage Adaptation of Highest Rated Christmas TV Special of All Time

THE NORTH POLEFollowing five successful years of touring and more than 500 performances, the “most famous reindeer of all” from the longest running and highest rated holiday television special will fly into Utica, NY at The Stanley Theatre on November 22, 2019 live on stage with the critically acclaimed Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer: The Musical (www.rudolphthemusical.com). The world’s most famous reindeer and a holly jolly cast of iconic characters including Hermey the Elf, Yukon Cornelius and the Abominable Snow Monster will help Santa save Christmas.

FOR TICKETS PLEASE VISIT WWW.BROADWAYUTICA.ORG OR CALL BROADWAY UTICA AT 315.624.9444

In 1964, the beloved stop-motion animated television classic, Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer, made its network television debut and has been delighting audiences across the country for over 50 years. “Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer: The Musical is a wonderful new way to experience this family tradition,” says producing partner Jonathan Flom. The national tour is a family favorite — a “holiday staple” (The Boston Globe) and an “utterly charming, top-notch production” (Orlando Sentinel).

Projections, costumes and characters are faithfully brought to the stage against a backdrop of nostalgic set designs. The 12-foot-plus-tall Abominable Snow Monster is jaw-dropping. The cast brings high energy to classic songs and dialogue, while irresistible and loveable puppets highlight the charming “roughness” from the television show’s stop-motion effects.

Flom says, “The familiar story elements from the television special are addressed with a talented cast and puppeteers who help recreate the magic on stage.” Since the special itself is a classic musical, the stage show does not feel at all like an adaptation and audiences are surprised and delighted when they see performances of songs such as “Fame and Fortune” and “Rockin’ Around the Christmas Tree” that are heard but not performed in the TV special.

The story tells the tale of a young Rudolph who, because of the appearance of his bright, shining nose, is excluded from the Reindeer Games. He flees Christmastown and meets up with new friends Hermey the Elf and Yukon Cornelius. After finding The Island of Misfit Toys, Rudolph journeys home, where a snowstorm of epic proportions is threatening Christmas. Can Rudolph rescue his family and friends and help Santa save the holiday?

Rudolph’s partnership with PACER’s National Bullying Prevention Center continues this year.  The show offers a free toolkit to teachers that leverages the powerful messages from the Rudolph story to teach important character values.  In addition, a portion of proceeds from venue sales of the book, T.E.A.M. Rudolph and the Reindeer Games, will be donated to PACER.
