Clue Live On Stage Brings Laughter, Mystery, and Community Impact

CLUE BRINGS LAUGHTER, MYSTERY & A MAJOR COMMUNITY IMPACT TO UTICA’S STANLEY THEATRE DECEMBER 14–15

NEARLY 1,000 LOCAL STUDENTS TO EXPERIENCE A SPECIAL MATINEE PERFORMANCE THANKS TO BROADWAY UTICA’S COMMUNITY PARTNERS

CLUE, Live on stage, the side-splitting, fast-paced murder-mystery comedy inspired by the beloved Hasbro board game and fan-favorite film, arrives at The Stanley Theatre December 14–15 for three performances presented by Broadway Utica. Tickets are now on sale at The Stanley Theatre Box Office, by phone at 315-724-4000, or online at BroadwayUtica.org. Groups of 10+ may call 315-624-9444 for exclusive rates.

This year’s engagement of CLUE is more than just a touring Broadway-caliber show — it’s a celebration of access, arts education, and community impact. Nearly 1,000 students from across several counties will fill The Stanley Theatre on Monday, December 15th at 11:00 AM, attending a special student matinee made possible through the generosity of Broadway Utica’s community partners and donors.

For many of these young audience members, it will be their first time stepping inside a historic theatre, their first time seeing a professional show, and perhaps the moment a lifelong love of the arts is sparked. Broadway Utica Executive Director Danielle Padula shared, “Any time we break down barriers and bring students into the theatre, it reminds us why we do this work. Experiences like these change lives — they inspire creativity, confidence, and connection.”

Led by acclaimed Broadway director Casey Hushion (Associate Director of Mean Girls and The Prom, Associate Resident Director of Aladdin, choreography for Netflix’s Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt), CLUE invites audiences into an evening of outrageous fun. Murder and blackmail are on the menu when six mysterious guests gather at Boddy Manor for a night they’ll never forget. Was it Mrs. Peacock in the study with the knife? Colonel Mustard in the library with the wrench? Based on the 1985 Paramount Pictures film and the iconic Hasbro board game, CLUE keeps audiences laughing — and guessing — until the final twist.

The production features scenic design by Lee Savage, costume design by Jen Caprio, lighting design by Ryan O’Gara, sound design by Jeff Human, and original music by Michael Holland. CLUE is based on the screenplay by Jonathan Lynn, written for the stage by Sandy Rustin with additional material by Hunter Foster and Eric Price.

Since its debut in 1949, the CLUE franchise has captured imaginations across the globe. More than 200 million copies of the board game have been sold, and the 1985 comedy film remains a cult classic with a devoted following.

The North American tour of CLUE is produced by Work Light Productions and Lively McCabe Entertainment. The show was originally produced at Bucks County Playhouse, New Hope, Pennsylvania (Alexander Fraser, Robyn Goodman, Josh Fiedler, Producers) and developed by Cleveland Playhouse (Laura Kepley, Artistic Director & Kevin Moore, Managing Director).

With only three performances in Utica — and a powerful community story behind it — CLUE promises to deliver big laughs, unforgettable moments, and an experience that will stay with audiences long after the curtain falls.
