Broadway Utica Announces the 2025-2026 Adirondack Bank Season Featuring Iconic Shows and THE SOUND OF MUSIC national tour launching right here in Utica, New York!

Broadway Theatre League of Utica is elated to announce the highly anticipated 2025-2026 Adirondack Bank Broadway Utica Season, bringing world-class Broadway productions to the Stanley Theatre stage. With an diverse mix of timeless classics and modern hits, this season promises to deliver unforgettable experiences for all ages. The theme for this season is "DRAMA AWAITS", as Broadway Utica prepares for a season that will not only captivate audiences but also make an unparalleled impact on the local economy and creative community.

“We are incredibly proud of the 2025-2026 season lineup, which showcases the power of live theatre and the rich cultural opportunities we provide to Utica and the surrounding communities,” says Danielle Padula, Executive Director of Broadway Utica. “This year, we're not just hosting some of the most beloved Broadway productions – we are also teching two major national tours right here in Utica. This is a significant moment for our city, as we are bringing together performers, designers, and production teams to rehearse and prepare for national tours, right on The Stanley Theatre stage.

September 5-6, 2025. Broadway Utica will be kicking off The National Tour right here in Utica, NY of The Sound of Music! For 65 years, The Sound of Music has been one of our “favorite things.” With its timeless story and irresistibly charming score, this Rodgers & Hammerstein classic isn’t just meant to be enjoyed, it’s meant to be shared. Now, a critically acclaimed North American tour brings the cherished musical to stages across the country to teach a new generation to sing. Featuring beloved songs like “Do-Re-Mi,” “Sixteen Going on Seventeen” and “Edelweiss,” The Sound of Music is the iconic tale of a spirited nun who chooses not to live behind closed doors—and, by following her heart, learns to climb every mountain

November 11-12, 2025 – Another tech show right here in Utica! From the songwriting team behind the smash hit Tony Award-winning musical Dear Evan Hansen and the Academy Award-winning film La La Land, A Christmas Story, The Musical, brings the classic 1983 movie to hilarious life on stage! Set in 1940s Indiana, a young and
bespectacled Ralphie Parker schemes his way toward the holiday Rifle. An infamous leg lamp, outrageous pink bunny pajamas, a maniacal department store Santa, and a triple-dog-dare to lick a freezing flagpole are just a few of the distractions that stand between Ralphie and his Christmas wish.

December 14-15, 2025 – A mansion. A murder. A mystery. Murder and blackmail are on the menu when six mysterious guests assemble at Boddy Manor for a night they’ll never forget! Was it Mrs. Peacock in the study with the knife? Or was it Colonel Mustard in the library with the wrench? Based on the fan-favorite 1985 Paramount Pictures movie and inspired by the classic Hasbro board game, Clue is the ultimate whodunit that will leave you dying of laughter and keep you guessing until the final twist.

March 3-4, 2026 - Everyone’s favorite Scottish nanny is headed to Utica in this internationally acclaimed hit musical critics call “wonderful, heart-warming, and laugh-out-loud funny” (Manchester Evening News) and “a feel-good, family-friendly comedy that delivers” (The Hollywood Reporter). Based on the beloved film, MRS. DOUBTFIRE hysterical and heartfelt story of an out-of-work actor who will do anything for his kids. It’s “the lovable, big-hearted musical comedy we need right now,” raves the Tribune – one that proves we’re better together.

May 6-7, 2026 - Broadway’s Tony and Grammy Award-winning big-hearted musical hit, Kinky Boots, continues to captivate and entertain audiences around the world with a score by Cyndi Lauper, book by Harvey Fierstein, and original direction and choreography by Jerry Mitchell. Based on true events, Kinky Boots follows the journey of an unlikely pair who discover that you change the world when you change your mind.

Broadway Theatre League of Utica is particularly excited that The Sound of Music & A Christmas Story, will be teching national tours right here in Utica. For both shows, the historic Stanley Theatre will be the site where production teams, performers, and technical crews come together to rehearse and prepare for their nationwide engagements. These teching processes are vital as they set the stage for these shows to hit Broadway and theaters across the country. This also brings an exceptional economic impact to Utica. As dozens of team members and performers from across the nation come to rehearse in Utica, they will contribute to the local economy through hotels, restaurants, and other businesses in the area along with utilizing local labor. It’s an exhilarating opportunity for Utica to be a part of the national Broadway scene, providing valuable exposure and fostering creativity within our community.
